Introduction
Animals are important not only for balancing our ecosystem but also useful for our day-to-day life. Every organism has a unique place in the food chain and thus each contributes to maintaining the existence of life on the earth.
They serve humans with food and many other things. We consume dairy, meat, and egg products that we find from animals.
Moreover, animals carry a lot of importance in our lives. Some animals help in farming and some reduce our stress, anxiety, depression, and loneliness.
Kinds of Animals
All the living organisms which are eukaryotes and made of a number of cells that can sexually reproduce are called animals.
There are several kinds of animals around us. We can see it as small, very small, and huge. Some animals are cute and adorable whereas some are scary. But all are equally important that help to maintain the balance of nature.
There are several species of animals living on the earth that exist in water or land or both in water and land. These animals are divided into particular groups in biology for a better understanding of their species.
These species are divided into amphibians, reptiles, mammals, birds, fishes, insects, etc.
Amphibians are those types of animals that can live on both land and water. It is a class of cold-blooded vertebrates. Frogs, Toads, Salamanders, Newts, Caecilians, etc. come under these categories.
Reptiles are a class of vertebrates that are also cold-blooded animals and mostly they lay eggs while some like the Boa constrictor give birth to living young.
These animals are most easily recognized by their dry, scaly skin. Snakes, turtles, lizards, crocodilians, etc. come under this category.
Next, mammals are the types of animals that give birth to offspring in the womb and have mammary glands. It includes humans, monkeys, cows, buffaloes, tigers, elephants, and others.
Birds are animals whose forelimbs evolved into wings and mostly feather-covered bodies and lay eggs for giving birth.
Fishes have fins and not limbs. They are compatible with water and breathe through gills in water.
Insects are Pan crustacean hexapod invertebrates and the largest group within the arthropod phylum. They are mostly six-legged or more and most have a head, thorax, and abdomen.
These are the kinds of animals found on the earth.
Benefits of Animals
Humans are superior to all animals. Humans learned to use animals for their benefit and have realized how to incorporate animals into their social lives. Animal husbandry is not a new practice and has been in existence for a long time.
In ancient times when humans came into existence, animals were used for food, hunting, and protection purpose. Later they use them for transportation purposes.
After that, human beings used it for farming purposes. Now they use these animals for testing in the laboratory, the discovery of new things clothes, food, transportation, and entertainment.
They use animals like oxen, buffaloes, and bulls for plowing lands.
Animals are used for dairy as well as for food purposes.
The bond between humans and animals has increased and now they use it as pets also. Dogs, cats, rabbits, etc. are now their favorite pets.
Dogs have been loyal and faithful companions to humans throughout their lives. In the past man uses it while hunting. Now dogs are the best companion for humans. They protect the people and their homes as well. They ensure physical security and emotionally support us as our loving pets.
Humans are now being used as animals for several purposes like in astronomers and in laboratories.
In astronomers, they use them for discovering new things on other planets.
In the medical laboratory, they are used for testing new vaccines and drugs. Generally, rabbits and rats are mostly used for it and tested upon them. Several vaccines and medicines are the blessings of resources we obtained from animals.
They are used in various sports like racing, polo, and more.
They are also used for recreational purposes like circuses and zoos.
Conclusion
Animals are very important for our planet Earth which cannot be ignored. We should never hunt wild animals unnecessarily. We must not abuse animals that are living around us and others.
As good humans, we must always revolt against any inhuman activity that harms them and others. It’s our responsibility to protect them for the next generation and prevent them from being endangered.
